Welcome to the Web Home of the USS SELLERS (DDG 11)

More Photos from the 1960s (page 2)

From Commissioning...

Kennedy ('61-'63) and Johnson ('63-'69) were President.
So much to say about a new ship with its first coat of paint. The commissioning, all the "firsts" that come along come along with a new ship. These pages reflect the 1960s which was the first decade for the USS SELLERS. We have photographs of the crew in Charleston and in the Med. We have twigits, tweeks and snipes. We have "chops", LDOs and CO - we have a little of everything.

Take a look around and see what it was like to be a member of ship's company in the 1960s.

Thanks to Carl Faust for providing these photos from 1967. Here we see a "swim call" , "ship cleanup" and a beautiful sunset.
